The first time I tried making a Russian tea cake was back in the early 2000s.
My parents were both Russian-American and my mom loved to make them for her grandmother, but my mom was very strict about what she could and couldn’t do with the recipe.
She insisted that she could only use the most authentic ingredients in the house and that the cake was to be kept for herself.
I loved the way it looked, but I couldn’t get my taste buds to love it as much as I did the other day.
The next time I saw the Russian tea cakes at a tea shop in NYC, I knew I wanted to make a recipe from the original recipe.
It took me a few tries, but eventually I settled on making a sweet tea cake with turmeric tea.
Turmeric tea is known for its medicinal properties.
It’s also used in traditional Chinese medicine for digestive issues, as a topical medication, and for a host of other things.
I think it’s just an easy way to use the tea as a flavoring.
While the recipe doesn’t call for a cake, I think you could probably make it in a cake pan and use it to make the cake.
You could add a layer of chocolate or cocoa powder for a rich chocolate flavor.
If you have a good-sized pot of boiling water and don’t have a mixer, you could just use a food processor.
There’s also a ton of other recipes for Russian tea that I can’t remember right now.
Have you tried making any Russian tea recipes?
What did you think?
